Are you still worried about focusing the camera correctly?  You needn't worry about that, either.  There is Autofocus (AF) with Live View available for usage.  As you point to shoot your subject matter, and even as you depress the shutter release halfway down, you will see on your 2.5" LCD display an image of what you have in your frame.  As the image is acquired, it works with eleven AF points to assure perfect focus in your photograph when using the Zuiko Digital lenses that are compatible with the feature.  Otherwise the Hybrid mode will work just fine for you.   When you pre-select your subject matter, you can actually have faster shutter speeds with the AF modes.

Previewing is a really good thing to have, don't you agree?  Well, it doesn't end with the AF feature; you actually view any adjustments you make along the way.  Using any shooting mode, you can watch your adjustments to exposure, white balance and scene mode before saving the image to memory.  You will also be able to see that there is no longer any dust on your images, this is brought to you by the Supersonic Wave Filter feature.  It will blast out any dust into a collector within the camera.  Scene mode will give you a choice of twenty available scenes to select.  Once selected, the Olympus E520 will automatically adjust the settings for that particular scene.  The images, when completed, can be save in raw or jpeg formats.

Olympus E620

Touchy, touchy, touchy! No, we're not talking about you and your personality.  We are talking about the Nikon Coolpix S60.  This sleek compact digital camera comes with all kinds of plusses, including touch screen controls.

This truly is a cool camera!  It is so loaded with features that you will not run out of fun any time soon.  Everything on the camera is touch-controlled, excluding the power and shutter buttons. You will find yourself oohing and ahhing over this little guy. When you think of touch screen and you imagine the iPhone controls, this touch screen works a little differently, however similar, to that.  When using the touch controls, you will find that tapping the screen to select works better than simply dragging your finger from one side to the other.  The dragging of the finger does work, however, when you are reviewing the images that you have taken within your camera.  Simply drag your finger to the right or left to advance on in your photo gallery.

There are automatic shooting modes that you can choose from on the Coolpix S60.  A few of those include automatic, scene, and video.  There is a quick switch between each of these, giving you the ability to take photographs quickly.  You can also move just as quickly between flash mode, turning on the timer Smile Shutter and switching to macro mode.  The zoom touch control will take a little getting used to in order to master its sensitivity, but once you have that down, you'll wonder why it ever took a learning curve to get it. The touch screen even works in low lighting. When you are in portrait and night portrait modes, you can still zoom and focus as necessary for that perfect portrait.

The Coolpix S60 comes with a 3.5-inch LCD screen and 10-megapixel image quality.  The ISO can be cranked up to 3200 that allows you to be able to shoot in low or bright light and still have clear, crisp pictures.  Along with the one touch zoom control mentioned previously, this camera also comes with a 5x zoom Nikkor lens making it capable to shoot 5.9-29.5mm with a twelve-element group.  Connect to your electronic equipment with an HDMI interface/cable.  Movement will not show in your subject matter when the vibration reduction control adjusts and corrects the images for you.

Other features of the S60 are numerous, so we will be able to only cover a few in this article.  When you have your subjects within your LCD's viewer, simply touch the subject to lock in the autofocus and auto exposure features.  Did you need to shoot a picture on its side, but you want it the correct side up for your final product?  Simply use the automatic image rotation to do so.  The Smile Timer previously mentioned, when set, will not release the shutter until the subjects are smiling.  Paint and draw functions will allow you to create colorful borders, or handwrite notes on your images.  Face priority will focus on the faces and corrects the lighting surrounding them; in camera red eye fix will rid the image of red eye and d-lighting will allow your pictures to be well adjusted.

The Nikon Coolpix S610 is said by the manufacturer to have the 'world's fastest startup time".    This 10 megapixel digital camera has a large amount of automatic controls, allowing the camera to do most of the work for the photographer.  Manual controls are available for white balance and other standard camera features.

The autofocus setting will allow you to set automatically for face priority.  This will check the surrounding light and area of your subject and adjust to make sure you have detail in both the dark and bright areas of your photograph.  You can choose single or full time autofocus that will allow you to focus once the shutter released is depressed half way down or continually throughout every image you shoot.  Manual focus is also available if you have a good eye and would rather control it yourself.

The Coolpix S610's white balance presets are for flash, cloudy, fluorescent, incandescent (standard light bulbs) and daylight.  Do you use a white or gray card to decide on the settings for your camera?  This model allows a preset so that you may use a card, as well.  The exposure compensation is give or take 1/3 of a stop and controllable from the click wheel.  The metering mechanisms for the camera will allow for center-weighted and matrix techniques. Center weight will watch the middle of your frame for lighting and the matrix will use the entire frame.

Shutter speeds vary from one second to 1/1500th of a second and up to four seconds for fireworks mode.  The aperture runs from f/2.7 through f/11.6, depending on the lens you are using.  The 4x zoom is a Nikkor lens with 28mm wide-angle capability.  Image stabilization is a feature so that your S610's images do not turn out to be blurry.
