Thinner than an inchworm is long the Olympus FE-360 lends capabilities for affordably amazing results that will turn heads. Shiny metal and slightly more than half an inch thick, you will be able to slide this camera into most any pocket, purse and carry-on bag. You can even slide it into your wetsuit when you go diving for superb underwater pictures!

The brain of this model will hold over 20MB in its memory and can be expanded through the use of microSD cards and xD-Picture cards. The camera's mind will accept jpg format for the still images and AVI motion jpg for movies! (Yes, it even shoots movies!) The eyes can zoom in with z 3x optical zoom and 4x digital zoom. This camera has six lenses in five groups and four aspherical lenses that run the gamut of 36-108mm. You can shoot as close as two inches and broaden the playing field up to over three feet away! The Olympus FE-360 blinks fast, too. The shutter speed is 1/2000th of a second to less than half a second. If you are in Sunset mode you can actually hold it up to four seconds! With ISOs from 54 up through 1000 you can shoot in most lighting situations.

There are automation technologies at work inside to allow even the na?ve at heart to be able to shoot fantastic pictures. The exposure metering can be chosen from digital ESP metering or Face Detection with auto exposure. White balances control the shadow, highlight and detail. The FE-360 has an automatic white balance option as well as four presets: daylight, overcast, tungsten (which can add an eerie blue to your portrait) and fluorescent. If you're bucking back and forth, there's no reason for your photograph to be blurry. The Digital Image Stabilization will detect movement and compensate for you so that motion blur is a thing of the past. Flash pictures are adjusted for you with the automatic setting, and red-eye can be reduced and fill can be added in for you. Playback your photographs and movies on the LCD screen. You can do this in several different ways. They are: single, index display, enlargement, slideshow, rotation and the movie can play like on a DVD.

Humans can receive shooting assistance through three functions: Perfect Shot Preview, Frame Assist and Voice Recording. Perfect Shot Preview will allow the photographer to play with different effects and settings on the camera and preview the framed shot within the LCD display before you even save it to memory! Frame Assist will help you frame the shot appropriately, so nothing's left hanging. The AVI movie can be shot with sound and voice recording can help you out with that.

The Olympus FE-360 has twenty preset shooting modes that will allow you to look out at the shot you have in mind, tell the camera what kind of scene it is, and the camera will compensate its settings for a perfect and glorious masterpiece.
